Into The Vertical Blank: Generation Atari S3:E19 Interview with Thomas Cherryhomes. How Fujinet and Irata-Online Give Plato New Life Fujinet is an exciting new creation for Atari 8bit computers that, among other things, allows them to connect up to the internet and load disk images straight off of FTP sites. It is the brainchild of the genius Thomas Cherryhomes who would like to have this type of device built for all home computers.  Thomas started out by building IrataOnline, a version of the Plato Learning system and drivers for every popular computer system.  He then built the ultimate SIO device for Atari 8bit home computer to allow them to go on the internet, explore IrataOnline and much much more. S3:E4: Atari’s Biggest Mistake Part 2: Game Player Non Expandable

In part 2 of “Atari’s Biggest Mistake” we explore the core reasons  why Atari blundered in 1982 with their biggest releases and explore a “what if” scenario right out of The Vertical Blank.      What really was Atari’s biggest mistake? Was it ET for the 2600, was it Pac-Man for the 2600? Was it over confidence and inexperience? Or was it some else entirely?  In this 2nd part of our brand new investigative series on the real failure of Atari, we delve deep into the exact moments that we feel turned Atari from, the fastest growing company in the world, to a failure 3 years later.    This podcast includes never before heard interviews with Nolan Bushnell, Chris Crawford and Curt Vendel.  Atari Business is Fun by Marty Goldberg (Author), Curt Vendel (Author) https://www.amazon.com/Atari-Inc-Business-Complete-History-ebook/dp/B00CELBAJS/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=atari+business+is+fun&qid=1586136981&sr=8-2   Arcade Perfect by David L. S5:E6: Atari ST Halcyon Days of 1989 Part 3: Atari ST Gaming Gems

S5:e6 Atari ST Halcyon Days of 1989 Part 3: Atari ST Gaming Gems Our favorite 1989 Console Style Games for the ST We had an ST when most of the other kids near us had various consoles. We knew our machine could play superior RPGs, Simulations, and Adventure titles, but how did it hold up against the 8 and 16 bit console games of the day?  Some ST console-like games were as good, some were not. We've chosen 20 console style games from 1989 for the ST to highlight and talk a little about, but before we get to those we’d like to highlight, let's first look at a list of the top 10 games in all genres from 1989, based on our ratings.  To make these lists we played every single game that has a 1989 release date in Atari Mania’s database, and ranked them based on Sound, Graphics, Game Play and Addictiveness,  usings scores of 1-10, then averaged those scores to come up with a rating.  The following list is how the numbers worked out for a top 10. It’s all subjective + math, but we did play all of the games from the year to be certain we were ranking them against their contemporary competition.  Videos for this Podcast:Atari ST Gaming Gems #6 1989 Top 10https://youtu.be/dCBzOatNAng Atari ST / STE Gaming Gems: Vol 7 -  Top Console Style Games from 1989 https://youtu.be/rZ0qsS42av0   Games discussed in this episode: Interphase    RVF Honda   Gauntlet 2  Midwinter  Seven Gates of ...
